Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve - revisited
Went again with @Beegs (confusion.cc) to the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve to take some pictures (original photos here). This time we rented some big lenses to try and capture some birds in the area. Sadly the birds were busy somewhere else, but there were a fair bit of Monitor Lizards this time and we did manage to see a crock which is quite rare.
Shoots below and on Flickr.

Abandoned: Old Brunei Hostel
Out with Beggs to the Old Brunei Host in Singapore. Its one of the best sites I have been to lately. The site sits right in the middle of one of the most expensive locations in Singapore as beggs mentioned in his blog. I wonder how long will it last before someone decides to sell it.
some more info on the site is at The Daily Brunei Resources.

from wikipedia:
The Singapore Flyer is a giant Ferris wheel located in Singapore, constructed in 2005–2008. Described by its operators as an observation wheel,[1] it reaches 42 stories high, with a total height of 165 m (541 ft), making it the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, 5 m (16 ft) taller than the Star of Nanchang and 30 m (98 ft) taller than the London Eye.
Situated on the southeast tip of the Marina Centre reclaimed land, it comprises a 150 m (492 ft) diameter wheel, built over a three-story terminal building which houses shops, bars and restaurants, and offers broad views of the city centre and beyond to about 45 km (28 mi), including the Indonesian islands of Batam and Bintan, as well as Johor, Malaysia.

Frankston Waterfront
Frankston, Australia (Google Maps) has one of the nicest waterfronts in the area. The sunset shots you can get overlooking the per or Oliver’s hill are just stunning! more shoots at flickr as always.

The Mornington Tourist Railway
We have been visiting the Morninignton railway last week for a train ride on the old line. Its a great day out starting with a train ride (about 17min) on the old steam engine to Morninignton station, a day in Morninignton beach and back for the train ride back to the station and our cars. The kids and their friends loved it and had a great time.
The main attraction was the old steam engine K-163 which the kids loved to look at and see it in operation. the set on flickr have more photos from the day.

Time for some more flowers
Been doing some more flower shots lately as our backyard flowers are blooming quite nicely now. Also trying out some of the lenses I've got and learning to use the new Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens , a magnificent lens, I believe it's much better than the non macro version I owned previously.
